Cybersecurity workers are in high demand in Tampa

Cyber attacks can hit any business at any time, and the impact can range sporadically in severity. As a result, the state of Florida is seeing a huge spike in demand for people trained in cybersecurity.

The University of Tampa has decided to take steps to ensure that students enrolled in cybersecurity are prepared to enter the workforce directly after graduation. The University has placed its focus on providing more hands on experience in an attempt to develop students who are ready to work on day one.

Construction has started on a recently implemented six-story technology building that will host the university's technology programs, including those in computer science, business information technology, management information systems, cybersecurity, business analytics and SAP certification.

There are half a million of those jobs available in the United States, around 20,000 in Florida and 6,000 in the Tampa Bay area. Graduates are already reporting an increase in possible job opportunities.
